The Confederation of Indian Industry, India, CII, is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organisation, playing a proactive role in India’s development process. Founded some 125 years ago, it is India’s premier business association, with a membership base of over 300.000 companies from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs. CII works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry in India, partnering industry and government alike through advisory and consultative processes.
The German MITTELSTAND BVMW (the Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), Germany, represents over 1 million small and medium-sized enterprises, business owners and individuals.
Providing information, advisory, consultative and representative service facing policy, public authorities, unions and major enterprises BVMW enhances corporate self-development in all ranks.
BVMW also cooperates on behalf of the small and medium-sized businesses with partners worldwide in the range of politics, economy and culture.
In addition BVMW implements and maintains so-called permanent representations abroad which are established following the structures of BVMW. In cooperation the permanent representations develop economy clubs whose members are likewise members of BVMW with equal rights and responsibilities.
CII and BVMW agreed that a joint program will be established with a focus to better connect Germany’s SME’s with India.
